Rythu Mungitlo Shastravethalu - A navel programme of 6 weeks duration from 5th May to 13th June 2025 in selected 1200 villages of Telangana with 200 teams to create an awareness among farming community and selected issues in agriculture and allied sectors by involving a team of experts comprising scientist, students and officials of the department of agriculture. As a part of this, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Palem organised Inaugural programme at Kondareddypally village, Vangoor Mandal, Nagarkurnool District on 05.05.2025. KVK staff interacted with farmers between 9.30 am and 1.00 noon, focused on awareness about reducing use of urea, fertilisers and pesticides, as well as promoting crop diversification and water conservation. Dr.Mallu Ravi, Hon’ble MP, Nagarkurnool and chief guest of the programme addressed the gathering that the university has meticulously planned 45 days long this awareness campaign to reach the un reach/unexplored regions in order to build up an awareness among the farming community for the ensuing crop season, keeping this in view farmers must consciously plan for their kharif crops and make use of the services of PJTAU. Sri. KVN Reddy, Member of Farmers welfare Commission, Telangana State addressed that Government is thriving hard for the farmers welfare particularly to provide quality seed, more procuring centres, bridging the gap between the millers and farmers suggested to make use of their services. Dr. GECH. Vidhyasagar, Registrar, PJTAU encouraged the farmers by sharing various scientific work experienced with the farmers, as KVK, Palem is going to take up Kondareddypally village as their adopted village, farmers must aware of the programmes, mandate of the centre. Hence, with the support crop plan for the next 3 years can be made for the all the groups of the village. Dr. M. Balram, Director of Research, PJTAU briefed about the need to keep efforts to make alterations in the management practices in cropping system. Focused on awareness about reducing use of urea, fertilisers and pesticides, as well as promoting crop diversification and water conservation. Dr. T. Prabhakar Reddy, PC, KVK, Palem highlighted the major themes of the programme viz., Reducing the cost of cultivation by reducing the urea usage in various crops particularly paddy, Judicious usage of the plant protection chemicals in order to maintain the ecological balance, Keep the seed, chemicals bills secure which may helpful in getting compensations in the worst cases, Saving the water, protect the resources for the future generations, Crop diversification/ Crop rotation to achieve assured/stable income, planting of trees to protect the nature/ Environment. Further, presented on right usage of fertilizer, enhancing the soil organic matter by using organic manures, biofertilizers and green manures. Dr. O. Shaila, SMS (PP) emphasised on measures to be taken (Non chemical IPM practices) to cut down the chemicals usage in order to protect the crop from pests & diseases. Sri. Adinarayana Reddy, Regional Manager, TS Seeds, Wanaparthy assured the farmers to supply quality seeds in coming days. Sri. Venkatesham, DHSO created awareness on oil palm cultivation in the district, subsidies offering for vegetables & fruit cultivation by the Dept. of Horticulture. A total of 182 farmers, KVK staff, department of agriculture staff, students were participated.
