A complaint has been raised by a farmer, Sri. B. Sridhar Reddy regarding the poor growth and scorching of the maize crop after taking up spraying with herbicides. Observations of the team: The sowings were taken up at Jan last week with Syngenta 7884 hybrid in 5 acres under zero tillage conditions in paddy fallows. The spraying was done during 25 -30 DAS with Flux (Atrazine) + Tynzer (Topramenzone) + Impel (Botanical bactericide+Fungicide) + Nano DAP, all together at one shot. Immediately toxicity symptoms were noticed. However, the farmer has not reached to the experts on right time. The team observed the curling up of leaves due to the boron deficiency and severe infestation with FAW (70-80%). The crop is dried up and seems to be neglected & poor management practices was seen. Suggested spraying with Chlorantraniliprole @ 60 ml/acre and provide the irrigation immediately. In this visit Dr. O. Shaila, SMS (PP), Dr. Ch. Bharath Bhushan, Coordinator, DAATTCC, Smt. P.
