Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Malyal organized Rythu Sadassu with an aim to promote Natural Farming under DAPST (Tribal Sub Plan), 2024-25 at Rythuvedika, Kothaguda on 15-03-2025. Dr. S. Malathi, Programme Coordinator briefed about the objectives of this programme and importance of Natural Farming in the present scenario. Sri Ramesh, Natural farming practicing farmer from Khammam participated as resource person and explained about different components of Natural farming, different inputs/ingredients used in this farming towards improvement of soil health, plant health and balanced ecosystem. He emphasized on usage of cow based agro inputs for preparation of different natural farming products to control pest and diseases. Subsequently, Sri G. Ashok Kumar, Natural farming practicing farmer from Somaram village of Thorrur Mandal shared his experiences for Paddy cultivation in this method by using different desi varieties since 14 to 15 years. Dr. R. Uma Reddy, Associate Director of Research, CTZ, RARS, Warangal participated as chief guest for this programme and reiterated the importance of Natural Farming especially utilization of cow based products (Cow dung, Cow urine, etc) in the farming which helps in improvement of soil health, plant health and environment and for betterment of balanced ecosystem. He advised atleast few participants to try to inculcate the habit of this farming in small area to meet their home needs as well as gain good income by marketing in different platforms. Later, 3 Number of Desi cows along with calves – one in each village of Eshwaragudem, Doravarivempally, Ootla were distributed to 3 beneficiaries for promoting Natural Farming & 4 Goatery units (4 female + 1 male) were distributed to 12 trainee farmers (4 groups) from 2 TSP adopted villages for encouraging income generation activity through livestock units. Dr. E. Rambabu, SMS (Horticulture), Sri A. Sreenivas Rao, ADA, Mahabubabad, Dr. Sreekanth, Veterinary Assistant Surgeon, Kothaguda, Smt AJ. Shanthi Priyadarshini, HO, Mahabubabad and 129 tribal farmers and farmwomen from Doravarivempally, Eshwaragudem village of Kothaguda Mandal and Ootla village of Gudur Mandal participated in the programme.
