On the eve of World Health Day Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) screening and Awareness camp was organized on 7.4.2025 at the University Health Centre, College of Agriculture, PJTAU, Rajendranagar, in collaboration with Neo Doc and Boehringer Ingelheim- a German based company. The initiative aimed to promote early detection and management of CKD, a growing concern in India’s healthcare landscape. The camp offered AI-based self-testing urine kits that screened for 11 critical parameters, including microalbumin, protein, glucose, creatinine, and albumin-creatinine ratio (ACR). The test is designed for quick and accurate preliminary diagnosis, empowering patients with timely insights into their kidney health. A total of 53 individuals; 3 teaching staff and 50 (non- teaching staff -Class IV employees across the hostels, Offices and Farm labour participated and availed the hassle-free, non-invasive screening. The technology-driven approach and instant reporting made the experience highly efficient and user-friendly. The health camp was graced by the University officers, Dr. Ch. Venugopala Reddy, Dean of Student Affairs and Dr. K. Jhansi Rani, Dean of Agriculture apart from Associate Dean, College of Agriculture, Dr. M. Goverdhan, Dr. C. Padma Veni, Officer I/C Health Club and Dr.K. Bhanu Rekha, Officer I/C Extra- Curricular Activities. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Ch. Venugopala Reddy, Dean of Student Affairs emphasized the importance of early detection in improving treatment outcomes for CKD and other non-communicable diseases. The event successfully raised awareness among staff about the silent but serious nature of kidney disease.
