Conducted a Diagnostic field visit to Vegetables and paddy fields on 27.03.2025 at KVK, Palem

KVK, Palem conducted a Diagnostic field visit to Vegetables and paddy fields at Manganoor (V), Bijinepally (M), Nagarkurnool (D) on 27.03.2025. Summer vegetables, Brinjal, Tomato, Bhendi, bottle guard are cultivating in 2.5 acres and castor as intercrop for shade purpose. Tobacco caterpillar in brinjal, leaf curl viral disease in Tomato are the major pests and diseases noticed. Dr. Adhi Shankar, SMS (Hort) suggested to spray with Emamectin benzoate @ 0.4 g/L for tobacco caterpillar, Azadiractin 10,000 PPM @ 2 ml/L or Karanji oil @ 2 ml/L (Biorational) + Planofix @ 0.25 ml/L +13:0:45@ 10 g/L + Formula-6 @ 5g/L for tomato, Bhendi and bottle guard and explained the best management practiced in vegetables. Paddy crop is in grain filling stage observed stem borer/ White ears (10%) and panicle mite (15%). Dr. O. Shaila, SMS (PP)suggested to spray with Chlorantraniliprole @ 0.3ml/L + Spiromecifen@ 1ml/L immediately. In this visit Dr. O. Shaila, SMS (Plant protection), Dr. Adhi Shankar, SMS (Hort) and 4 farmers were participated.
