Extension Education Institute

Established in 1962 at Rajendranagar, Hyderabad, the Extension Education Institute (EEI) is a premier institute under the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Government of India, and administratively managed by Professor Jayashankar Telangana Agricultural University (PJTAU). EEI is committed to enhancing the capacities of middle-level extension officers across six southern states—Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Odisha—and three Union Territories: Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep, and Puducherry.

Staff Strength

EEI Hyderabad currently operates with 9 teaching faculty against 13 sanctioned posts and 24 non-teaching staff against 37 sanctioned positions

Innovative Pedagogies:
Buzz sessions, role plays, group work, case studies, virtual tours, experiential learning, and use of Google Forms for real-time feedback and follow-ups.

Collaborative Programmes with MANAGE – 28 Trainings
Focused on Nutrition-sensitive agriculture, organic/natural farming, ICTs, AI, drones, leadership, PPPs, and FPO promotion (2021–2024).
Follow-Up Studies
Conducted 9 studies (2011-14) across Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Puducherry, A&N Islands, 2 studies (2023-24) and planned for Karnataka, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, and Lakshadweep in the present year. These studies helped evaluate behavioural change and course effectiveness.

    Enhanced employability and entrepreneurial skills of rural youth.

Webinars with SEP – 38 Events

  • (2022–2025) on themes like:
    Natural & Urban Farming, Agro-tourism, Food Waste, Millets, Digital Misinformation, One Health, Climate Resilience, and SDGs.

 Observance of Key Events
Celebrated Yoga Day, Women’s Day, University Foundation Day, Telangana Vajrotsavalu and Mission LiFE, fostering community engagement and institutional culture.
