Organized the ‘Anti Ragging Day’ inauguration programme on 12th August, 2025 at Agricultural College, Adilabad

Agricultural College Adilabad organized and observed ‘Anti Ragging Day, 2025’ on 12th August, 2025 by inauguration of the programme followed by Anti Ragging Week from 12.08.2025 to 18.08.2025 to create awareness among students about harmful effects of ragging. The programme was anchored by Ms. J. Arthika, III year, B.Sc. (Hons.) Ag. Student. The event begun with a warm welcome of the chief guest Sri. L. Jeevan Reddy, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Adilabad on to the dais followed by welcome to the Dr. Sreedhar Chauhan, Associate Dean, Agricultural College Adilabad, Dr. G. Manjulatha, Professor (Agro.) & Officer In-charge Student Affairs (OISA) Dr. G. Anitha, Assoc. Professor (Ento.), Dr. Kasbe Sudhanshu Sudhakar, Asst. Professor (Agro.), Dr. M. Sunil Kumar, Asst. Professor (Hort.), G. Anil Kumar, Asst. Professor (GPBR). The introductory remarks were offered by Dr. G. Manjulatha, Professor (Agro.) and OISA explaining the significance, the theme of Anti Ragging Day – 2025 and summarizing the NMC & UGC regulations of ragging and what constitutes ragging and administrative actions for ragging. Later the chief guest Sri. L. Jeevan Reddy, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Adilabad created awareness about anti-ragging to the students and stressed that if students indulge in ragging in College, there will be stringent action apart from ruining their bright future. The speaker also shared personal experiences and stated that students involved in ragging incidents that causes death or abets suicide shall be punished with imprisonment for life. This was followed by elocution competition held to the students on Anti Ragging theme for two minutes each with simultaneous judging the best performer. Later the faculty members shared their thoughts and experiences of ragging making students learn how ragging is crime and act of indiscipline. Prize distribution for elocution and poster making competition was given away. Dr. Sreedhar Chauhan, Associate Dean addressing the event reiterated the importance of creating a safe and inclusive environment for all students and not to indulge in ragging or any form of ragging behaviour. Dr. Kiran Reddy, Teaching Associate (AEXT), Dr. Jayachandra Reddy, Teaching Associate (SSAC), Dr. P. Sandhya, Teaching Associate (PATH), and Mrs. Nagamani, Physical Director and Sri. A. Hareesh, Superintendent along with Non-Teaching staff and 1st & 3rd year B.Sc. (Hons.) Ag. students actively participated. This programme formally concluded with vote of thanks
