Anti- Ragging and Anti-drug awareness programme conduct at Agricultural College, Warangal on 13-08-2025

As per D.O.No.1-74/2016(ARC) dated:22-07-2025 of The Secretary, University Grants Commission, Govt. of India and circular Memo. No. 1340(1)/DSA/ARDW/2025 from the Dean of Student Affairs, PJTAU, dated:02-08-2025, Anti Ragging awarenessprogramme was conducted on 13.08.2025 in the Virtual Class room of College from 11:15 am to 1:30 pm involving all the students of III year and IV year ( around 110No.s), teaching staff and Police personnel( S.I, C.I) from Enumamula Police Station of Commissionerate of Police, Warangal.This initiative was to increase awareness among students against ragging where in introduction / orientation programme on anti ragging was organized. The programme started with welcoming dignitaries (Associate Dean, Circle Inspector, Sub Inspector) on to the Dias by Dr. B.Vidhyadhar, Professor (GPBR), Univ. Head&OISA. Dr. B. Vidhyadhar, Professor (GPBR), Univ. Head & OISA delivered a talk on what is ragging as per UGC , punishments for ragging incidences, mechanisms available to curb menace of ragging in the institution. Sri. J. Suresh Circle Inspector of Police, Enumamula police Station given a brief orientation on anti-ragging, ragging acts, ragging punishments etc. Sri. B. Raju, Sub Inspector of Police, Enumamula police Station gave an address about ragging incidents occurred in Warangal previously, punishments given and ways to curb ragging menace, contact details in case of ragging incidents etc. Smt. Archana, Sub Inspector of Policecreated awarenesson the creation of SHE Teams and informed the students to make use of the services of SHE Team for their self-defence by dialing helpline number.Sri. A. Raju, Sub Inspector of Police created awareness on ill effects of drug addiction and measures to control the addiction among the students. Dr. S.Malathi, Associate Dean talked about importance of curbing ragging menace in colleges, advised students not to involve in any type of ragging and suggested students to concentrate on achieving goals instead of wasting time on un necessary things. He cautioned students that, stern action will be initiated against students who are found guilty in ragging. In addition to above, at the end, Video films developed by UGC on anti ragging have been played and took a pledge to create awareness about anti ragging and anti drug addiction. The meeting ended with vote of thanks by Sri. A.Sathish, Assistant Professor (Agro.), AGC, Warangal. As an adjunct to this programme, the dignitaries apprised the students about “NashaMukthBharathAbhiyan”, awareness on drug abuse and its effects on life. On the occasion, took pledge against drug abuse. Later in the evening season, NSS Programme Officer, Smt. K. Gopika and Dr. Srinivasnaik, Additional OIAM made the first year students also to take pledge against drug abuse. 70 students took the pledge.
