Agricultural College, Palem solemnly observed Martyrs’ Day on 30th January 2026

Agricultural College, Palem solemnly observed Martyrs’ Day on 30th January 2026 to pay homage to Mahatma Gandhi and all martyrs of the nation. The observance was organized with the objective of instilling patriotic values among students and creating awareness about the ideals of truth, non-violence, sacrifice, and national unity. As part of the observance, two minutes of silence was observed at 11:00 a.m. on 30.01.2026 in the memory of those who gave their lives in the struggle for India’s freedom, reflecting deep respect and gratitude towards the martyrs. Dr. B. Pushpavathi, Associate Dean, AGC, Palem addressed the gathering and highlighted the significance of Martyrs’ Day, emphasizing the ideals and sacrifices of Mahatma Gandhi and other freedom fighters, inspiring students to uphold national values in their personal and academic lives. The observance served as a reminder of the sacrifices made for India’s independence and reinforced the responsibility of the younger generation to uphold democratic values and contribute positively to the nation’s progress. The programme was conducted peacefully and in a dignified manner. The programme concluded by NSS Programme Officer V. Sri Ramya with expressions of respect and remembrance to the martyrs. All faculty members, Non-teaching staff, and students of the college participated in the programme.
