The College of Food Science and Technology (CFST), Rudrur, celebrated the 79th Independence Day on 15th August, 2025, with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour. The event witnessed active participation from students, teaching, non-teaching, and outsourcing staff. The programme began with a warm welcome address by Ms. Madhu Mita, a 3rd year student of CFST. Dr. K. Venkat Reddy, Associate Dean, paid floral tributes to the freedom fighters, followed by faculty members, staff, and students who also offered their respects. Afterwards, the Associate Dean unfurled the National Flag, and the gathering collectively sang the National Anthem with pride. The cultural programme commenced with a patriotic song by Ms. Maheshwari, a 1st-year student, which was followed by speeches delivered by students highlighting the sacrifices and struggles of freedom fighters. On this occasion, Mr. P. Shiva Kumar (Assistant Professor & OISA) addressed the gathering, providing valuable insights into the Indian economy. Dr. J. Sai Prasad, Assistant Professor & Warden emphasized the future challenges of India, finally Dr. K. Venkat Reddy, Associate Dean appreciated the speakers and shared his thoughts on the emerging challenges in food processing technology and the importance of enhancing educational quality. Later, all participants attentively joined the Vice-Chancellor’s Independence Day address in online mode. The programme concluded with a formal vote of thanks by the OISA, marking the successful completion of the celebrations.
